Matt and I were on the FeedBurner board together and he’s got a powerful connection between LA and Chicago – another city with an incredibly thriving startup community. While they invest nationally, they have deep roots in both cities and are key players in the respective startup communities, along with the cities at large.

I'll bet you don't know where the Center of NY's Tech Community and Center of Creativity is. In fact, it is "well-known internationally as the original home of New York's technology community.". VCs and fulltime angels bring a lot more than just money to the communities they invest in. It says so right on their website.
